Loop is a US based customer relationship software company, and Shopify is part of a group of investors who put no less than $65 million in Series B capital for Loop. Basically, the latest financing round for Loop was led by Shopify, along with Renegade Partners and CBV, as well as FirstMark Capital, Ridge Ventures, Peterson Ventures, and Lerer Hippeau.
Shopify seems to accelerate its investment/acquisition strategy lately, and the US based startup is a great deal insofar it offers an exchange-first returns platform for Shopify brands.
Shopify worked with Loop for a number of years to reduce difficulty/costs with returns, which are “a huge part of (and problem in) the shopping experience” as per Shopify’s vice president of product and acceleration own words.
Besides Loop, Shopify invested recently in companies that support its merchant ecosystem, like Swyft and Tapcart, not to mention Co-op commerce, Bench and Pipe.
Shopify also took stakes in Stripe and Affirm, a buy-now-pay-later retail fin-tech company. Moreover, the Canadian based e-commerce platform recently took over the team behind Primer, an Oakland-based augmented reality home design app.
